The Domäne Wachau Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Kellerberg 2023 13.5% vol. 3 litres in a wooden crate is an iconic white wine from one of the most renowned vineyards in the Wachau. Domäne Wachau is one of the most important and respected wineries in Austria and is internationally recognised for its characterful, terroir-driven wines. The vines grow on steep terraces with barren primary rock soils, which give the wine its unmistakable minerality and depth. Tasting Note

The Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Kellerberg 2023 has a light straw yellow colour with golden reflections in the glass. On the nose, it develops complex aromas of yellow apple, ripe pear, stone fruit and exotic hints, accompanied by a fine spiciness of white pepper and tobacco. On the palate, it is powerful, dense and mineral, with a creamy texture, elegant acidity and enormous length. The finish is complex, harmonious and characterised by great elegance.

This Smaragd Veltliner is an ideal partner for fine dishes: perfect with roast veal, Wiener schnitzel, poultry, Asian-inspired dishes as well as strong fish or seafood. It also unfolds its full potential with mature hard cheese. With its structure and finesse, it is also a wine for collectors and connoisseurs and makes an elegant gift idea in the 3-litre wooden crate.
