The Krispel Pinot Blanc Straden Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2023 13% vol. 0.75 l is a single-vineyard wine from the Styrian Vulkanland region that is full of character and impressively embodies the elegance and finesse of the grape variety. Weingut Krispel, known for its precise, terroir-influenced wines, relies on the highest quality, craftsmanship and an ageing process that guarantees depth and complexity for this Pinot Blanc.


The grapes come from the vineyards around Straden, where volcanic soils combined with the cool microclimate create ideal conditions. The wine is matured for 12 months in large French oak barrels, which gives the wine additional structure, fullness and fine roasted flavours. With an alcohol content of 13% vol. and ageing potential until 2035, it combines drinking pleasure and ageing potential at the highest level.

Tasting Note

The Pinot Blanc Straden 2023 has a pale golden yellow colour in the glass. The nose reveals aromas of ripe stone fruit, delicate roasted flavours and cloves, accompanied by a hint of exoticism. The palate is initially creamy and full-bodied, but then develops a taut, elegant structure with a good finish. A fine acidity, spicy nuances, pear notes and an iodine minerality give it depth. The finish is long, elegant and characterised by harmonious minerality.

The Krispel Pinot Blanc Straden DAC 2023 is a versatile food companion that goes particularly well with Neusetzer Kuh, creamy pearl barley risotto, truffle pasta, roast duck breast or grilled fish. It is also an excellent choice with strong vegetarian dishes or mature cheese. Served at 10-12 °C, it unfolds its full aromatic complexity and ensures enjoyable moments.
