Description
Description
The Kopke 80 Years Old Tawny Porto is an exceptional port wine that epitomises the highest Portuguese wine art and comes from Kopke, the oldest port wine house in the world. Since its foundation in 1638, Kopke has been known for producing port wines characterised by tradition, patience and masterful craftsmanship.
This 80-year-old Tawny Porto is an absolute rarity, aged for eight decades in old oak barrels in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia. This extremely long ageing period creates an unrivalled complexity that can only be found in a few wines worldwide. Each bottle is delivered in a high-quality wooden box and is not only a luxury item, but also an invaluable collector's item.
With its extraordinary history, limited availability and aromatic depth, the Kopke 80 Years Old Tawny Porto is aimed at true connoisseurs and lovers of exclusive port wines. It is not just a drink, but a piece of Portuguese culture and an experience to be treasured for very special moments.
Tasting Note
In the glass, the Kopke 80 Years Old Tawny Porto has a deep mahogany colour with sparkling amber reflections. The nose reveals an incomparable aroma with notes of candied fruit, figs, dates and dried apricots, accompanied by nuances of fine nuts, honey, coffee, tobacco and fine spices. On the palate, it is velvety, dense and full-bodied, with a perfect balance between sweetness, lively acidity and intense flavours. The finish is long-lasting, deep and impressively elegant.
The Kopke 80 Years Old Tawny Porto should be enjoyed at a temperature of 14 to 16 degrees in order to develop its full flavour. It is a perfect digestif and harmonises excellently with fine pâtisserie, desserts with dried fruit or caramel as well as with fine dark chocolate and truffle pralines. Strong blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort as well as mature hard cheeses such as Comté or Parmesan are also ideal companions. Those who enjoy this port wine neat will experience it as a meditation wine - a drop that reveals new facets with every sip and guarantees an unforgettable experience.
