It is particularly noteworthy that this whisky - like all Coffey bottlings - is not distilled in classic pot stills, but in the rare Coffey stills that Nikka originally imported from Scotland. Although it is considered a malt whisky, it is made exclusively from malted barley and distilled in the Coffey stills, which gives it an unmistakably creamy, round and complex profile. With this Anniversary Edition, Nikka emphasises its craftsmanship, the combination of Japanese precision and Scottish tradition and the courage to break new ground in whisky production.
