This wine combines the classic character of Rioja with a fresh, contemporary style - elegant, harmonious and full of youthful fruit.


Próximo 2021 is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes grown in the best vineyards in Rioja Alavesa. The climate of this region, with its cool nights and sunny days, ensures slow ripening of the grapes and a perfect balance between fruit, acidity and structure. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine matures for several months in American oak barrels, which gives it its fine flavour and velvety texture. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., Marqués de Riscal Próximo stands for expressive, modern Rioja enjoyment with elegance and depth.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Próximo 2021 is a bright cherry red colour with violet reflections. The nose reveals aromas of ripe red fruit, cherries and plums, accompanied by fine vanilla and toasted notes from the barrel ageing. On the palate, the wine is soft, fruity and harmonious, with silky tannins, lively freshness and a pleasantly spicy finish.
