The Portia Prima La Encina Ribera del Duero 2022 is a characterful, deep red wine made from 100% Tempranillo grapes that encapsulates the essence of the famous Ribera del Duero wine region in Castile-León. The vines grow on limestone and clay soils in a continental climate characterised by hot days and cool nights. These conditions ensure perfectly ripe grapes with intense flavour and precise structure.


After selective hand-picking, the grapes are gently processed and fermented at a controlled temperature. The wine is then matured in oak barrels for at least 15 months, allowing it to develop its harmonious balance between ripe fruit, flavour and structure. The Portia Prima La Encina Ribera del Duero 2022 is limited to just 15,756 bottles - a wine of rare exclusivity and outstanding quality that reflects the best of the region. Bodegas Portia, designed by the renowned architecture firm Foster & Partners, is considered an architectural landmark of the region: a futuristic building that harmonises state-of-the-art design, natural materials and avant-garde shapes with the landscape.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Portia Prima La Encina Ribera del Duero 2022 presents itself in a dense, deep ruby red colour with violet reflections and elegant stained glass windows. The nose reveals aromas of ripe mulberries, blackberries and plums, accompanied by notes of spices, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate and black tea. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, intense and excellently balanced, with fine-grained tannins and a dense, silky structure. The finish is long-lasting, complex and characterised by dark fruit, roasted aromas and a fine spiciness that lingers for a long time.

The Portia Prima La Encina Ribera del Duero 2022 is an ideal accompaniment to grilled beef, rack of lamb, game dishes or hearty stews. It also unfolds its full elegance with mature Manchego cheese, braised dishes or pasta with strong meat sauces. It shows its full potential at a drinking temperature of 16-18 °C.
