The Aberlour A'Bunadh Original Cask Strength Sherry Cask Collection Limited Edition 1 marks a new chapter in the history of the legendary A'Bunadh range. With an alcohol content of 56.2% vol. and bottled in an elegant gift box (UK), this bottling marks the start of a limited series that honours the heritage of the Speyside distillery Aberlour in an impressive way. This first edition of the Sherry Cask Collection has been developed to celebrate the deep connection between Aberlour and the finest sherry casks in Spain - a true masterpiece of artisan distilling.


Unlike the classic A'Bunadh line, which is matured exclusively in first-fill Oloroso casks, this edition has been given a secondary maturation in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, giving it added complexity and remarkable depth. The Master Distiller will vary this concept for each future edition of the Sherry Cask Collection - always focussing on the transformative effect of sherry cask maturation. Naturally, it was bottled at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration and without colouring in order to preserve its authentic character and unadulterated aroma.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with reddish-golden reflections.

Nose: Rich and inviting with notes of juicy red apples, blackberries, sultanas, caramel wafers, Demerara sugar, cinnamon and Ingwerer.

Taste: Powerful and complex with flavours of blackcurrants, spiced pears, vanilla toffee, dates, sultanas, oak spice and star anise.

Finish: Langs, fruity and syrupy with spicy, slightly sweet notes and a fine sherry depth.

It harmonises perfectly with dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, dried fruit, fig cake, mature hard cheese or desserts with toffee and dates. It is also an excellent accompaniment to smoked meat, game dishes with cranberry sauce or a strong cigar.
