The Torabhaig Sound of Sleat The Legacy Series Batch Strength Single Malt 60.2% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an impressive and strictly limited whisky from the Scottish Isle of Skye that perfectly captures the precision craftsmanship and maritime soul of this young distillery. Founded in 2017, Torabhaig Distillery is one of the few new distilleries in the Hebrides that has managed to attract worldwide attention with exceptional quality and traditional character.

The Sound of Sleat Batch Strength is limited to just 15,000 bottles worldwide and was distilled from the barley varieties Concerto and Laureate, which were peated to 78 ppm. After distillation, the whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and new American oak casks, giving it a complex interplay of peat, wood and sweetness. With a residual phenol content of 14.5 ppm, this single malt has a balanced character between strong smoke and elegant fruit.

Bottled in Batch Strength at 60.2% vol., the whisky presents itself with an intense structure and natural strength - not chill-filtered and without colouring.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with a slight amber sheen.

Nose: Smoky and maritime with notes of brine, tobacco, orange, apricot, seaweed and sweet oak.

Taste: Powerful and complex with flavours of bonfire, vanilla, apricot, white pepper and barley sugar.

Finish: Langs, smoky and spicy with notes of oak, peat and a hint of fruit.

The Torabhaig Sound of Sleat Batch Strength unfolds its full potential neat at room temperature or with a small drop of water, which gently opens up the peaty and fruity nuances. It is an excellent accompaniment to smoked salmon, mature hard cheese or dark chocolate with a high cocoa content. It is also suitable as a meditative dram after a hearty dinner or as the highlight of a peated whisky tasting.
