Planteray Barbados 5 Years Old is an authentic rum that embodies the traditional rum culture of the island of Barbados and achieves its special depth through careful, two-stage maturation. Planteray stands for Caribbean craftsmanship combined with European ageing techniques, resulting in a harmoniously balanced rum that combines both classic and modern flavour profiles. It is produced using the pot still and column still method, which gives the rum its balanced structure of aromatic intensity and smooth drinkability.


Its maturation begins with 3 years in former bourbon barrels in Barbados, where the rum develops its fruity, caramelised basic structure. This is followed by a 2-year finish in ex-Ferrand casks in France, which gives it additional complexity and subtle notes of wood and spices. This double maturation is characteristic of the brand's style and ensures a multi-layered, balanced spectrum of flavours. The rum is bottled with colouring and is 40% vol. which makes it particularly accessible while still showing depth.
