The Hennessy V.S.O.P Cognac 40% Vol. 0.7 l is one of the best-known and most traditional cognac bottlings from France. Its history dates back to 1817, when James Hennessy was commissioned by the future King George IV of England to create a particularly well-balanced blend. This resulted in the first Very Superior Old Pale Cognac, which is now known worldwide as Hennessy V.S.O.S Privilege. Hennessy is one of the leading producers of high-quality cognacs and has been synonymous with perfect craftsmanship and consistent quality for generations.
The Hennessy V.S.O.P Cognac is a carefully balanced blend of eaux-de-vie aged for between 4 and 15 years in French Limousin oak barrels. This maturation gives the French cognac its harmonious balance between fruit, flavour and wood. At 40%, this VSOP Cognac is soft, elegant and versatile. The combination of many years of experience, selected distillates and traditional barrel ageing makes this Cognac from the Cognac region one of the most popular bottlings in its category.
Tasting Note
Colour: Mahogany.
Nose: Spicy and fruity, with vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and subtle hints of pineapple.
Flavour: Silky and balanced, with dark fruits, vanilla, exotic spices and dried grapes.
Finish: Elegant and smooth, with notes of chocolate, spices and red berries, long lasting.
The Hennessy V.S.O.P Cognac is ideal for pure enjoyment, ideally served at room temperature in a Cognac snifter. This VSOP Cognac can also be enjoyed over ice or as part of classic Cognac cocktails such as Sidecar or French Connection. In culinary terms, this Cognac from France harmonises particularly well with mature cheese, dark chocolate, nut desserts or fine pastries. The Hennessy VSOP also goes perfectly with desserts with caramel, dried fruit or crème brûlée and emphasises the subtle nuances of the food with its soft and spicy aroma.
