Linie Aquavit Authentic is an exceptional Norwegian aquavit known for its special maturing method. With an alcohol content of 41.5 % vol., it offers a perfect balance between spicy herbal notes and a gentle, mature depth. Its unique character is the result of an elaborate ageing process: the aquavit first matures in oak barrels that were previously used for sherry. It then embarks on a sea voyage of at least four months across the equator ("Linie" means line of the equator), where it is exposed to the climatic influences of temperature and humidity fluctuations - a tradition that makes it unmistakable worldwide.

The carefully selected botanicals include caraway, star anise, coriander, fennel and orange and lemon peel, which give it its warm, spicy and slightly sweet flavour. The barrel ageing process also gives it subtle vanilla, wood and sherry nuances, which make it particularly smooth and harmonious.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm golden yellow.

Nose: Spicy notes of caraway and aniseed, fine citrus freshness, subtle vanilla and wood nuances.

Flavour: Soft and full-bodied, spicy herbs with a pleasant sweetness and a slight sherry note.

Finish: Langs and smooth, with a balanced combination of herbs, vanilla and oak.

Linie Aquavit Authentic is traditionally served slightly chilled or at room temperature to bring out its flavours to the full. It is the perfect accompaniment to Nordic dishes such as smoked fish, seafood or savoury meat dishes. It is also ideal as a digestif after a hearty meal.
