Description
Description
Hödl Hof's long-established distillery is located between orchards and vineyards.
The quality of the brandies is guaranteed by a 300-litre bootleg distillery and a 200-litre fine distillery made of pure copper.
The fruit from the orchards is transported by the shortest route to the fermentation cellars, where it is gently fermented at a controlled temperature. For generations, double distillation has been carried out according to old Styrian tradition.
Only the high-proof centrepiece is taken and then matured in wood, glass or stainless steel.
The red cones of the Swiss stone pine tree are harvested in June, then finely chopped at Hödl Hof and coated with a mixture of grain, apple distillate and a Swiss stone pine spirit and matured for several weeks.
For weeks, Hödl Hof smells of the resinous Swiss stone pines as if they were standing in the middle of a mountain pasture.
The stone pines used come from stone pine farmers in Obdach, Upper Styria.
