The Aberfeldy 18 Years Old Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Casks Napa Valley 43% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is part of the Aberfeldy Distillery's limited Red Wine Cask Finish series and combines the typical mild, honey-sweet character of the distillery with the aromatic power of Californian red wine casks. This Highland single malt first matured for 18 years in refilled and reconditioned bourbon oak casks before being given a 15-month finish in Cabernet Sauvignon oak casks from the renowned Napa Valley. These premium wine casks give the whisky additional depth, an elegant fruity spiciness and a multi-layered interplay of flavours that intensely emphasise Aberfeldy's natural style.


The distillery, known for its smooth, accessible yet aromatically expressive whiskies, has created a special highlight with this limited edition bottling. The influence of Cabernet Sauvignon provides fruity notes of red berries, a subtle tannin structure and a hint of Californian warmth that blends harmoniously with the bourbon cask sweetness. Each batch, in this case Batch No. 2923/B, is composed in carefully selected barrels and presented in a high-quality gift box, which emphasises the exclusivity of this edition. At 43% vol., the whisky is full-bodied, smooth and long-lasting, without chill-filtration or added colour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm gold with a reddish shimmer.

Nose: Red berries, hints of green apples, fine sweetness and subtle floral honey notes.

Flavour: Fruity, soft and balanced with spice, subtle sweetness and gentle tannin nuances from the Cabernet Sauvignon casks.

Finish: Langs, mild and harmonious with fruity, spicy and slightly vinous accents.

The Aberfeldy 18 Years Napa Valley Finish is particularly suitable neat, slightly tempered in a nosing glass. In culinary terms, it harmonises perfectly with mature hard cheese, roast beef, grilled lamb, bacon variations and savoury pies.
