Description
Description
In the picturesque countryside of Riegersburg in Styria, Alois Gölles is the third generation of his family to run a fruit-growing business steeped in tradition. After graduating from the renowned Federal College for Wine and Fruit Growing in Klosterneuburg, he dedicated himself to refining his parents' harvest of apples, pears, plums and peaches. He began distilling fine brandies in 1979, followed by the founding of his high-quality vinegar factory in 1984. Today, the range includes around twenty fine brandies and just as many types of vinegar, which are regularly recognised.
Gölles Alte Marille apricot brandy matures for 8 years in oak barrels and is closely linked to the Austrian fruit tradition. It is mainly made from the varieties "Ungarische Beste" or "Wachauer Marille", which are grown in central Burgenland. This base is supplemented by a selection of modern varieties from Styria. The fully ripe apricots are harvested every year in July to ensure the high quality and intense flavour of the apricot brandy.
