The Mortlach 12 Years Old The WEE WITCHIE is a distinctive Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, 43.4% ABV, in a 0.7-litre bottle, presented in a high-quality gift box. This bottling comes from the legendary Mortlach Distillery in Dufftown, which is known as ‘The Beast of Dufftown’ due to its powerful house style. The name ‘The Wee Witchie’ pays homage to the distillery’s smallest and arguably most famous copper still, which has been a central part of whisky production for over 120 years. To this day, Mortlach continues to use the unique 2.81-fold distillation process developed by Dr Alexander Cowie. In this process, the distillate is passed through six differently shaped copper stills, giving the whisky its exceptional depth and full-bodied character. Maturation takes place in a combination of American and European oak casks, which lend the whisky additional complexity and balance.

Colour: A dark golden hue.

Nose: Oak, sandalwood, spices, burnt toffee and red berries.

Palate: Full-bodied with chocolate, brown cane sugar, cherries, spices and a hint of tobacco.

Finish: Smooth, dry and long-lasting with spicy oak notes.
