This Hakushu is a Japanese single malt whisky from the Suntory Whisky distillery. The name Hakushu means "white sandbank" and refers to the rich mineral deposits in the river on the island of Honshu, which leads to the Suntory Whisky distillery and ensures the purity of this whisky. This whisky is a blend of whiskies matured for less than 10 years in bourbon casks, old whiskies matured for at least 18 years in American white oak casks and young, very heavily peated whiskies matured for around 12 years in bourbon casks. Shinji Fukuyo, fourth Master Distiller, selected the casks himself. This Hakushu is the first without an age statement. Limited edition!

Tasting Note

Colour: Gold.

Nose: Fruit, mint, cucumber, grass, pear, vanilla, lemon zest.

Flavour: Fruity, tangy, honey, vanilla, herbs, mint, cucumber, grapefruit, hint of smoke.

Finish: Langs, delicate, light, sweet, fruity, fresh, smoke.
