Lajita Mezcal Reposado with Agave Worm 40% Vol. 0.5 l - a traditional mezcal matured in wooden barrels that impresses with its smooth smokiness and special flavour. Made from 100% agave espadín, this mezcal epitomises authentic Mexican craftsmanship and a centuries-old tradition. A special highlight is the agave worm (gusano) in the bottle, which is not only a symbol of quality, but also lends a special depth of flavour.

After distillation, the Lajita Mezcal Reposado matures for several months in American oak barrels, giving it a smoother, more rounded structure. The combination of the slow roasting of the agave hearts in earth pits and the ageing in wooden barrels ensures a harmonious balance between smoky, sweet and spicy notes.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with amber reflections.

Nose: Fine smokiness, sweet agave notes, subtle vanilla and wood accents, light spicy notes.

Flavour: Soft, round, with an elegant balance of smoked agave, caramel, vanilla and subtle herbs.

Finish: Long-lasting, gently smoky, with a fine oak note and subtle spice.

Lajita Mezcal Reposado is ideal for Purist enjoyment, served slightly chilled or at room temperature. For a traditional mezcal experience, it can be served with orange slices and Sal de Gusano (Werder salt).

It also adds a special depth to cocktails - be it in a Smoky Margarita, a Mezcal Negroni or an Oaxacan Old Fashioned. In culinary terms, it harmonises wonderfully with grilled meat, spicy tacos, dark chocolate or mature cheese, which perfectly underline its sweet and spicy flavours.
