The Hunter Laing Kill Devil Guyana 16 Years Old Single Cask Rum 2003 comes from one of Guyana's most renowned distilleries, which is known for its traditional distillation methods and characterful rums. This exceptional drop was produced in one of the last remaining distilleries with a historic pot still, which is valued for its heavy, aromatic style. Such distilleries give the rum a unique depth and a complex flavour structure that has developed over the years of maturation in oak barrels.

This rum was bottled as a single cask at a natural cask strength of 59.9% vol., which preserves its full intensity and authenticity. It is a strictly limited bottling that has not been coloured or chill-filtered to preserve the original essence of the distillate. Each cask has been carefully selected by Hunter Laing to maximise the outstanding quality and distinctive profile of Guyana rums. Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with golden reflections.

Nose: Dark caramel, molasses, ripe dried fruit, vanilla, oak spice.

Taste: Powerful and intense, notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, tobacco, roasted nuts, fine herbal spice.

Finish: Langs and complex, with lingering sweetness, oak, spicy pepper and a hint of espresso.

This single cask rum is ideal for drinking neat, preferably with a few drops of water to develop its full spectrum of flavours. It goes perfectly with dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, mature cheese or a strong cigar. Alternatively, it can also be used as an exclusive base for strong cocktails such as a Rum Old Fashioned or a Rum Manhattan.
