The Bowmore 27 Years Old TIMELESS SERIES is an exceptional Islay single malt Scotch whisky that impressively demonstrates the importance of time in the creation of a great whisky. At 52.7% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle and presented in an exclusive gift box (UK), this limited-edition bottling combines the centuries-old craftsmanship of the Bowmore Distillery with exceptional cask maturation. Only 3,000 bottles have been bottled worldwide. The elaborately designed gift packaging is modelled on an hourglass and contains a genuine three-minute hourglass, inviting you to consciously take your time over the tasting and discover the complex aromas step by step.


The whisky is initially matured for 15 years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, before being finished for a further 12 years in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. This exceptional 27-year maturation ensures an impressive balance between Bowmore’s characteristic maritime peat smoke and intense sherry aromas. This non-chill-filtered single malt displays exceptional depth and elegance. Fruity notes of stewed plums, damson jam, currants and sultanas mingle with cream caramel, maple syrup, liquorice and grilled orange peel. On the palate, honey, fresh leather, cigar tobacco, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate and subtle oak spice unfold. The long finish is characterised by smoky oak, dried fruit, incense and maritime notes, underscoring the unmistakable character of this exclusive Islay single malt Scotch whisky.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with coppery highlights.

Nose: Stewed plums, plum jam, currants, sultanas, cream caramel, maple syrup, liquorice, grilled orange peel and smoked seaweed.

Palate: Honey-sweet with fresh leather, cigar tobacco, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, subtle oak and harmonious peaty smoke.

Finish: Exceptionally long, with smoky oak, dried fruit, incense and maritime smoky notes.
