The Ole Smoky Distillery in the Smoky Mountains has a deep history dating back over a century, beginning with the first settlers in the region. Despite the long tradition, the production of moonshine was not always legal until a change in Tennessee law made it possible to open the first state-licensed distillery in Gatlinburg.

Today, Ole Smoky not only produces the traditional moonshine that has been appreciated regionally for generations, but also a variety of exquisite whiskies. These products are a testament to the craftsmanship and rich history that have made Ole Smoky a prominent name in the spirits industry.

To make the fruity liqueur, a puree of blackberries is prepared and macerated in Ole Smoky whisky for 2-3 days. This process elicits the intense flavours of the blackberries and combines them harmoniously with the whisky, resulting in a uniquely fruity liqueur.
