The whisky is matured for 14 years in a combination of American sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks, giving it a multi-layered flavour profile. The choice of casks brings out notes of sweet honey, ripe fruit and delicate spices, complemented by the subtle peaty smoke typical of Highland Park. Bottled at 42.3% vol. in a natural colour, this single malt impresses with a pleasant balance and a slightly maritime character, which can be attributed to the harsh conditions of the Orkneys.

The "Loyalty of the Wolf" edition is part of a themed series inspired by the values of the Vikings. The wolf symbolises loyalty, perseverance and a sense of community - qualities that also characterise this whisky. Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber.

Nose: Sweet smoke, stewed apples, dried apricots, honey and subtle vanilla notes.

Flavour: Full-bodied with caramel, roasted nuts, baking spices, candied fruit and a hint of peat smoke.

Finish: Gently smoky, medium length with soft fruit sweetness and subtle oak spice.

This whisky develops its flavours particularly well neat at room temperature, but can also be opened further with a few drops of water. Ideal as an evening dram, as an introduction to the world of peaty whiskies or as an addition to a balanced tasting. In combination with smoked fish, strong cheese or dark chocolate, the interplay of flavours can be intensified - a balanced Orkney whisky with character and depth.
