The Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 4 is the fourth edition of the powerful cask strength series from the traditional Highland Park distillery, located on the Orkney Islands north of the Scottish mainland. This bottling was bottled at an impressive 64.3% vol. at natural cask strength - without chill-filtration and without colouring - and is aimed at discerning whisky connoisseurs who are looking for an unadulterated and intense taste experience.

For this release, predominantly first-fill bourbon casks, sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks and a small selection of refill casks were used. The result is a complex single malt with the typical Highland Park balance of honey sweetness, peaty spice and gentle smoke, complemented by creamy vanilla, dark fruit and oak. The northern origins and maritime climate of the Orkneys also give the whisky a salty depth and characteristic minerality.

Highland Park skilfully combines age-old tradition, regional ties and uncompromising cask selection in this limited edition bottling. The high-quality gift box (GB) emphasises the premium positioning and makes this edition a coveted highlight for collectors and lovers of strong whiskies.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber with a natural sheen.

Nose: Strong vanilla, honey, roasted nuts, dried apricots, heather smoke and subtle oak.

Flavour: Full-bodied and complex with intense sweetness, peaty depth, spices, ripe fruit, creamy malt and strong wood.

Finish: Langs, warming and structured with smoke, dark caramel, oak and a sweet aftertaste.

Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to develop the full variety of flavours. Ideal with strong blue cheese, smoked meat, dark chocolate or a cigar. Also ideal as a highlight at a tasting or as a gift for experienced whisky fans. An authentic Icelandic malt with depth, strength and provenance.
