The Old Ballantruan 15 Years Old comes from the renowned Tomintoul Distillery, picturesquely situated in the Glenlivet Estate in the Speyside region of Scotland. This distillery is characterised by its deep commitment to traditional methods of whisky production and skilfully combines the use of classic copper stills with state-of-the-art distillation technologies.

As a peated malt whisky, the Old Ballantruan Whisky 15 Years Old is made from barley that has been dried using peat smoke. Peat, a historically important fuel in Scotland, imparts phenolic compounds to the barley during the drying process. These are responsible for the characteristic smoky and earthy flavour of the whisky. The maturation of the Old Ballantruan for 15 years in selected oak casks also contributes to the development of its complex flavour.

This whisky is also bottled without chill-filtration, which preserves its intense flavour and authenticity.

Tasting Note

Nose: Sweet, peat smoke, nectarines, sherry, chestnuts, herbs.

Flavour: Full-bodied, caramel, café au lait, berries, campfire, oak.
