Made from hand-picked Salzburg Tauern rye, which thrives at over 1,000 metres above sea level, this single malt whisky combines Alpine originality with excellent craftsmanship. The special terroir of the Tauern rye gives the whisky its unique, spicy characteristics, while distillation using the classic pot still method ensures a particularly pure, full-bodied flavour.

The whisky is matured for eight years in Sauternes casks from renowned châteaux. These selected sweet wine casks give the whisky its exceptional depth and complex flavour structure. From honey-like sweetness to floral notes and subtle spicy nuances - the influences of the fine Sauternes casks characterise the taste of this exceptional single cask whisky.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber with golden reflections.

Nose: Rich aromas of honey, ripe apricots and dried fruit, accompanied by a hint of vanilla and floral notes.

Palate: Full-bodied and complex, with a harmonious balance of sweet Sauternes fruitiness, spicy rye flavours and fine spices.

Finish: Langs, elegant and soft, with a slight sweetness and a subtle hint of oak.
