The Octomore EDITION: 16.2 Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Release 2025 58.1% Vol. 0.7 l in tin box is a limited special bottling from the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay and is part of the legendary Octomore range, which is recognised worldwide as the benchmark for extremely peated whiskies. The 16.2 also impresses with a phenol content of 101.4 ppm, which means it has the same level of peat as the Octomore 16.1.


The Octomore 16.2 is 5 years old and matured in a combination of four different cask types, which gives it a special depth and aromatic complexity. This variety of casks allows it to develop an exciting balance between intense smokiness, fruity sweetness, spicy wood notes and fine roasted flavours. It is bottled in its natural form, non-chill-filtered, without colouring and at a strong cask strength of 58.1% vol. This makes it unadulterated, powerful and multi-layered - a typical Octomore that nevertheless develops its own personality thanks to the choice of cask.


Supplied in a high-quality tin box, this edition appeals not only to collectors, but also to lovers of exceptionally smoky whiskies who appreciate the innovative character of the Octomore series.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber with golden reflections.

Nose: Massively smoky, with vanilla, dried fruit, spicy oak and a hint of dark chocolate.

Taste: Powerful and complex, characterised by peat smoke, caramel, toffee, dried fruit, roasted aromas and an elegant wood structure.

Finish: Very long, intensely smoky, with sweet, fruity and spicy Langs.

The Octomore 16.2 shows its full potential neat in a nosing glass or with a few drops of water, which emphasises its cask complexity even more. In culinary terms, it harmonises perfectly with grilled steak, strong blue cheese, smoked fish or dark chocolate, which complement its power and smokiness perfectly.
