Dellavalle Gran Liquore G. Gerbi L'Amaro del Diavolo Rosso is a traditional amaro that has been brought back to life thanks to a historic find. An old bottle that still contained the original, typically red liqueur inspired Davide Barbero, heir to the legendary "Diavolo Rosso", to relaunch this special amaro together with Distilleria Dellavalle. The reinterpretation is a tribute to Giovanni Gerbi, born in Asti in 1885, a cyclist with an unmistakable fighting spirit and iconic red racing jersey colour. His nickname "Diavolo Rosso" goes back to an anecdote in which he rode into a procession in his red clothing during a race and a startled priest exclaimed: "Chiellì a l'è al diau". This sporting legacy lives on in the characterful liqueur, which combines historical roots and Italian herbal tradition.


Amaro del Diavolo Rosso is obtained through the cold maceration and infusion of selected botanical ingredients: Genziana, cardamom, achillea, rhubarb, Assenzio gentile, sweet orange peel and Amarena cherry. This combination gives the herbal liqueur its aromatic depth, its bitter-sweetness and its distinctive red colour. Bottled at 25 per cent by volume, this amaro has a balanced, natural structure and is ideal for classic aperitifs, modern cocktail creations or pure enjoyment. It combines the unmistakable signature of Distilleria Dellavalle with a lively piece of Piedmontese sports history.

This Amaro del Diavolo Rosso is ideal as a digestif after savoury Italian dishes such as risotto, ossobuco or antipasti variations. In cocktails, it harmonises excellently with vermouth, gin or bitter liqueurs and is perfect for modern interpretations such as Amaro Spritz, Negroni variations or a "Red Devil Highball" with soda and orange zest. It also unfolds its aromatic depth particularly effectively with chocolate, candied fruit or an espresso. Served neat, it reveals the authentic balance of bitterness, sweetness and herbal intensity that characterises this exceptional liqueur.
