It is based on carefully selected, long-aged rum distillates from Barbados, which are first aged for several years under tropical conditions in the Caribbean. This is followed by the characteristic double ageing for which Plantation Rum is renowned worldwide. After initial ageing in ex-bourbon casks, the rums are transported to France and further refined in selected small French oak casks. This special cask ageing lends the rum additional elegance, depth and complexity.
