Flor de Caña has been family-owned and sustainably produced rum since 1890.

In 1875, Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa, a young adventurer from Genoa, Italy, left his family behind to travel to the exotic land of Nicaragua. The perfect location for the distillery was found at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano, the highest and most active volcano in Nicaragua. The fertility of the surrounding lands, the enriched water and the hot volcanic climate proved to be decisive for the unique and smooth flavour of the rum.

Flor de Caña is authorised to use the SLOW AGED designation with the permission of the strict US government authorities.

SLOW AGED describes the natural, non-accelerated maturation process in oak barrels. This award stands for the highest quality.

Flor de Caña Gran Reserva 7 Years Old matures for 7 years in small 180 litre white oak barrels.

Tasting Note

Colour: Mahogany.

Nose: Light, notes of toasted coconut, vanilla, figs.

Flavour: Soft, honey, dark chocolate.

Finish: Langs, slightly spicy.
