Its history dates back to 1862, when Don Facundo Bacardí Massó unveiled the first BACARDÍ Carta Blanca following ten years of intensive development work. With his innovative production process, he set new standards for modern white rum and created a particularly well-balanced character that is still regarded today as the benchmark for high-quality cocktail rums. The distillates are first aged in American white oak casks and are then refined through a secret charcoal filtration process. This process gives the rum its exceptional clarity, mildness and smoothness.
