Description
Description
The Landauer Gisperg Gumpoldskirchner rotgipfler DAC 2023 is an expressive yet elegant white wine from the Thermenregion in Lower Austria, made from the rare autochthonous Rotgipfler grape variety. This long-established vine finds ideal conditions in the region around Gumpoldskirchen, characterised by southeast-facing slopes, calcareous gravel soils and a mild, sunny climate.
As a classified DAC local wine, this vintage brings the special terroir of the Pfaffstätten vineyard unadulterated into the glass. The grapes come from quality-orientated vineyards, are selected by hand and then matured in large wooden barrels. The result is an organic-certified and vegan white wine that impresses with its regionality, individuality and craftsmanship. Incidentally, the name Rotgipfler refers to the reddish colour of the shoot tips - a further reference to the originality of this special grape variety, which grows almost exclusively in the Thermenregion.
Tasting Note
In the glass, the rotgipfler has a bright golden yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bouquet opens with intense exotic fruit flavours, including mango, papaya and a hint of pineapple. On the palate, the wine is fresh and juicy, supported by a clear minerality and the subtle influence of wood, which gives it fullness and structure. The finish is long, elegant and harmonious - a white wine full of character with depth and freshness.
Acidity: 6 g/l
Residual sugar: 5.5 g/l
Drinking temperature: 10-12 °C
The Landauer Gisperg rotgipfler is an extremely versatile accompaniment to food. It is an excellent accompaniment to grilled fish such as sea bass or trout, as well as seafood - especially fried prawns or grilled calamari. Thanks to its exotic flavour, it also ideally complements Asian cuisine, such as yellow curries, Vietnamese rice noodle dishes or spicy Thai soups. It creates an elegant harmony with mild soft cheeses. It also shows its fine side when enjoyed on its own - for example as an evening wine on the terrace.
