The Ardbeg AN OA Islay Single Malt is a characterful Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 46.6% in a 0.7-litre bottle. Named after the rugged An Oa peninsula on Islay, this bottling showcases a new facet of the unmistakable Ardbeg style. Compared to the classic Ardbeg Ten, the AN OA is more approachable, fruitier and spicier, without losing its characteristic peaty smoke. It is matured in lightly charred new oak casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks. The different cask characters are then harmoniously blended together in the specially developed ‘Gathering Vat’. The whisky is bottled without chill filtration, thereby retaining its natural texture and authentic character. At the 2019 International Whisky Competition, the Ardbeg AN OA was awarded gold in the categories Best Single Malt NAS, Best Islay Single Malt and Best Peated Whisky.


The balanced combination of the three cask types gives Ardbeg AN OA a harmonious balance of smoke, fruitiness and spice. The additional maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks adds depth and elegance, whilst the new oak casks provide spicy notes and the bourbon casks round off the classic Ardbeg character. Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber.

Nose: Soft fruity notes, subtle peaty smoke, tobacco spice, orange, citrus fruits and milk chocolate.

Palate: Spicy and sweet with chocolate cream, oaky notes, soft fruity notes and robust peaty smoke.

Finish: Long-lasting, silky with subtle smoke, aniseed and malty notes.

The Ardbeg AN OA Islay Single Malt reveals its flavours best when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of still water. It pairs superbly with smoked salmon, BBQ ribs, mature Cheddar, blue cheese, dark chocolate or roasted nuts.
