The unique Cockspur rum is produced at the Hanschell Inniss Ltd. distillery in Barbados and was founded in 1884 by Valdemar Hanschell. Since then, Cockspur's fantastic product range has not only conquered the global spirits market, but has also been honored with numerous awards. One of the best-known products is Cockspur Original Fine Rum, for example, with its elegant golden color.
All of the company's rum varieties are first distilled as heavy rums using the pot still method and then distilled twice more using the column still method as light rums. The heavy and light varieties are then blended by experienced hands, giving them an absolutely harmonious aroma. This naturally develops its very own notes during maturation in white oak barrels, which, depending on the variety, range from vanilla to fine spices and butter to exotic citrus fruits.
All varieties of the exclusive rum are ideal for pure enjoyment, but also form the perfect basis for numerous mixed drinks and cocktails, such as Cockspur & Coke. Especially in their Caribbean homeland, they are an integral part of local bars and enjoy great popularity. Cockspur rum is also very recognizable on the outside, with the rooster with a swelling chest proudly emblazoned on the labels.
