The name goes back to a historical prohibition from the 18th century, when this expressive rum was banned in Spain. El Ron Prohibido is produced in Mexico, where it matures under optimal climatic conditions. The basis: high-quality molasses rum, which is refined over several years in former sherry and brandy barrels using the solera method - this gives it its unmistakable depth.
At the heart of the rum is the traditional solera process, in which different ageing stages are harmoniously blended together.
