Père Magloire is one of the oldest and most renowned Calvados brands in France. Founded in 1821, the brand embodies the soul of the Norman art of distilling. The distillery is located in Normandy, in the Pays d'Auge, an area with a protected designation of origin (AOC). The fertile soils and temperate climate provide ideal conditions for the cultivation of over 200 varieties of apples, which form the basis for the unique taste of Calvados.
The production process begins with the selection and pressing of the apples, followed by the natural fermentation of the must into cider. For Calvados Pays d'Auge, double distillation takes place in traditional copper stills, resulting in a particularly pure and aromatic distillate. The Calvados then matures in oak barrels, where it develops its complex aromas.
Père Magloire's bottles are characterized by a classic design with traditional labels that reflect the brand's long history and quality. Each bottle bears the characteristic portrait of "Père Magloire", a legendary Norman innkeeper who serves as the namesake.
