Rick Gin is heavily influenced by Spanish drinking culture, especially the many beach clubs on Ibiza. Under the impression that company founder Patrick Martinelli gathered there, he began working intensively on the development of a holistic organic gin in 2014.
With the help of the Muster family, who run the Muster winery in Gamlitz, Styria, the current recipe for Rick Gin was finally created in 2016 after many experiments. All of the ingredients used come from Austria. For example, the lemons come from Carinthia and the ginger comes from Burgenland. The ingredients are sourced exclusively from certified organic farms. The bottles for Rick Gin are from Gamlitz.
Sustainable organic production was at the heart of the idea right from the start. This did not always prove to be easy, but the company ultimately succeeded. 'Rick' is a 100% pure, organic gin and is bottled unfiltered.
The distillation process is based on the London Dry method. Before bottling, the gin is tasted by Martinelli's team and each individual bottle is given a consecutive number and the production date. This ensures that every bottle is of the same high quality.
What was originally two different types of gin has now grown into a wide variety of top Austrian spirits.
