McQueen and the Violet Fog is an exciting gin creation from South America. The gin is produced in Jundiai, a Brazilian city northwest of São Paulo. It combines a colorful potpourri of exotic botanicals, some of which have traveled far and wide. The distillation of Brasilero by McQueen and the Violet Fog takes place in two stages. In the maceration process, 15 botanicals are soaked for 24 hours in a 60% distillate of sugar cane alcohol, which releases their aromas into the alcohol. This aroma-laden alcohol is then distilled a second time in the pot stills. The remaining six botanicals then waited in this still to release their aromas into the juniper spirit from their copper baskets.
The 15 premium botanicals are juniper berries, lemongrass, coriander seeds, violet root, angelica root, guava, orange peel, jasmine and more. The nose is filled with pleasant moments of citrus freshness with floral and herbal notes. These are joined by roasted spices and other notes that develop later and are reminiscent of sorrel.
McQueen and the Violet Fog is very smooth on the palate. Its aroma can be clearly detected in the mouth. The taste is dominated by subtle juniper tones and a wonderful sugar cane sweetness.
