McQueen and the Violet Fog - Brazilian gin with an exotic twist
McQueen and the Violet Fog is distilled in small copper pot stills in Jundiaí (Brazil) and combines 21 exotic botanicals - including rare ones such as lemongrass, calamansi, pomelo and jasmine - with classic juniper notes.
Region & origin
Distilled in the hinterland of Jundiaí, the gin unfolds tropical freshness through a sugar cane and citrus base, paired with Brazilian multi-layered charm.
Production & craft
The distillate is produced in 500 l batches, partly macerated, partly flavored via basket steam infusion - 21 botanicals create an exceptionally complex profile.
Aromas & character
The first impression is fresh and citrusy with juniper; this is soon followed by spicy and floral accents such as jasmine, star anise, lemongrass, rosemary, basil and acai - mild, complex and balanced.
Design & appearance
The slim bottle is adorned with a pronounced crown-and-eye relief and a dark label - modern, stylish and focused on authenticity.
Mixing & drinking recommendation
Pure on ice, classic gin & tonic or dry martini - especially with Fever-Tree tonic, the exotic freshness is perfectly accentuated.
Conclusion
McQueen and the Violet Fog is a world-class Brazilian exotic gin - more sophisticated than many British classics, exciting, complex and pleasantly easy to drink. Now new at delicando.
