Los Siete Misterios DOBA-YEJ Mezcal Artesanal DOP 2023 is a high-quality, handcrafted mezcal from Mexico that reflects the rich cultural heritage of traditional agave distillation in every bottle. This special bottling is produced in San Dionisio, Oaxaca, one of the most important regions for mezcal production. The Los Siete Misterios brand was founded with the aim of preserving the traditional production methods and cultural identity of this spirit - and this is exactly what the Doba-Yej does.
The 2023 vintage is limited to just 5,281 bottles and is produced in small batches - using the same methods that have been handed down for generations by the maestros mezcaleros of the region. The Espadín agave used, known locally as Doba-Yej, is roasted in earth pits over an open fire, then crushed, fermented and finally double distilled in copper pot stills (Alambique de Cobre). In contrast to some other mezcals of the brand, distillation is not carried out in clay pots, but deliberately in copper in order to achieve a particularly clear and precise aroma.
With 44% alcohol by volume, this mezcal offers an expressive balance between freshness, spiciness and a fine smokiness - ideal both for pure enjoyment and for high-quality cocktails.
