Mit einem Phenolgehalt von 108,2 ppm präsentiert sich dieser Islay Single Malt als eindrucksvolle Demonstration der kompromisslosen Octomore-Philosophie: maximale Rauchintensität, gepaart mit einer überraschenden Tiefe und Eleganz. Die Destillation erfolgte 2018 aus der Ernte von 2017, wobei ausschließlich Concerto-Gerste vom schottischen Festland verwendet wurde. Diese verleiht dem Whisky eine kraftvolle Malzigkeit, die den markanten Torfrauch harmonisch ergänzt.
Die fünfjährige Reifung in einer Kombination aus First-Fill-Bourbonfässern und re-charred Ex-Bourbonfässern sorgt für eine intensive Aromenextraktion aus dem Holz. Dadurch entsteht ein Whisky, der die typische DNA von Octomore verkörpert: brachial rauchig, aber zugleich komplex, ausgewogen und mit einem beeindruckenden Tiefgang. Die Abfüllung erfolgt in Fassstärke mit 59,1 % Vol., natürlich ohne Kältefiltrierung und ohne Farbstoffzusatz, um die volle Authentizität und Charakterstärke dieses Super-Heavily-Peated Islay Malts zu bewahren.
