Der Winkler-Hermaden Olivin 2021 ist ein ausdrucksstarker Rotwein aus der Südoststeiermark, der zu den Spitzenweinen des traditionsreichen Weinguts Winkler-Hermaden zählt. Mit seiner beeindruckenden Größe von 3 Litern in einer edlen Holzkiste präsentiert er sich als Wein für besondere Anlässe und festliche Momente. Der 33. Jahrgang dieses Ausnahmeweins basiert auf der Rebsorte Blauer Zweigelt, die auf den mineralreichen Böden rund um den Kapfensteiner Kogel gedeiht. Benannt nach dem Halbedelstein Olivin, der als Einschluss im Basaltgestein dieser Region vorkommt, ist dieser Wein ein Symbol für die Verbindung zwischen Erde, Holz und Reben – ein echtes Terroir-Unikat.
Die Trauben wurden vom 23. bis 29. September 2020 sorgfältig von Hand gelesen und nach schonender Vinifikation zu einem Wein ausgebaut, der durch Finesse und Kraft überzeugt. Der Ausbau erfolgte 24 Monate in Barriques aus Kapfensteiner Eiche, wodurch der Olivin seine markante Würze, Tiefe und Struktur erhielt. Am 25. Mai 2023 wurde er abgefüllt und ist seit dem 1. September 2023 verfügbar. Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 14 % Vol., trockenem Ausbau sowie der biologisch-organischen Arbeitsweise des Weinguts – zudem vegan – verkörpert er höchste Qualität und Nachhaltigkeit. Tasting notes:
Im Glas zeigt sich der Winkler-Hermaden Olivin 2021 in tiefem Rubinrot mit fast schwarzem Kern. In der Nase entfalten sich intensive Aromen von dunklen Kirschen, Brombeeren und Zwetschken, begleitet von feinen Röstaromen, Vanille, Tabak und einer dezenten Würze der Kapfensteiner Eiche. Am Gaumen wirkt er vollmundig, dicht und strukturiert, mit eleganten Tanninen, saftiger Frucht, feiner Kräuterwürze und einem langen, harmonischen Abgang, der seine Reife und Komplexität eindrucksvoll unterstreicht.
Der Winkler-Hermaden Olivin 2021 ist ein idealer Speisenbegleiter zu kräftigen Gerichten. Er passt hervorragend zu Wildgerichten wie Reh, Hirsch oder Wildschwein sowie zu kräftigen Steaks vom Grill oder aus der Pfanne. Auch Schmorgerichte, würzige Braten und gereifter Hartkäse ergänzen seine aromatische Tiefe perfekt. Die ideale Serviertemperatur liegt bei 16–18 °C, damit sich seine ganze Kraft, Würze und Eleganz entfalten können.
