Founded in 1791 by James Power in Dublin, Powers is one of Ireland's oldest and most renowned whiskey brands. As a pioneer, Powers was the first Irish distillery to bottle its own whiskey in 1886 - a milestone in whiskey history.
Originally based in the John's Lane Distillery in Dublin, Powers is now produced in the Midleton Distillery in County Cork. The combination of traditional production and modern know-how shapes the unique character of Powers.
Powers uses the traditional single pot still method - a blend of malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills. The generous removal of the foreshot and aftertaste produces a particularly pure and powerful whiskey.
