Worthy Park Jamaican Rum is a true single estate product. The rum is made from molasses. The distillation is done 100% in copper pot stills.
The storage is in American white oak barrels and in former Bourbon barrels for a total of 6-10 years.
Tasting notes:
Colour: gold.
Nose: Fruity, heavy, spicy.
Taste: Aromatic, floral, banana, plum, vanilla, honey, tobacco, cedar wood.
Finish: Long lasting.
Der Single estate Rum von Worthy Park ist an sich nicht schlecht gemacht, allerdings muss man den Geschmack von Worthy park mögen, denn dieser zieht sich durch das gesamte Sortiment. Auch wenn er schön fruchtig in die Nase strömt, mit der berühmten Worthy park Banane und sich mit holznoten verbindet, ist es einfach nicht ganz mein Geschmack, ich finde da den Hampden einfach noch besser. Der erste schluck im Mund setzt sich gleich fort mit den an der Nase wahrgenommenen Aromen, hier wieder vergorene Früchte, Holz, Vanille, eigentlich alles man von einem Jamaica Rum erwartet, nur eben mit dieser bestimmten Note, welche ich von allen Bränden aus der WP Destillerie kenne. Für den aufgerufenen Preis greife ich lieber zu anderen Jamaica Rums in einer günstigeren Preisklasse. Bis jetzt schmeckte mir der "109" von Worthy park am besten, selbst den "Select" mag ich noch ein Stück lieber. Mal sehen wie er mir nach einiger Zeit noch schmeckt, aber mein Favorit wird er nie werden...
