With the Kilchoman Machir Bay Evolution 1.0, the independent Islay distillery Kilchoman presents a new development stage of its popular standard bottling. This further development is characterized not only by a visual redesign, but also by a refinement of the maturation philosophy. The new design of the range coincides with a change in the composition of the vatting - the classic cask selection remains, but with a noticeable influence on the style and depth of the whisky.
As before, Machir Bay Evolution 1.0 is matured in a blend of 90% bourbon casks and 10% Oloroso sherry butts, but the targeted use of more active sherry casks now ensures a significantly more intense color and an even more complex aroma profile. This bottling has the typical smoky Islay DNA, but is even more expressive and balanced thanks to the revised cask selection and extended maturation - a modern Islay single malt that will delight connoisseurs and new connoisseurs alike.
With an alcohol content of 46% vol., non-chill-filtered and without colorant, Machir Bay Evolution 1.0 remains an authentic product of the artisan farm distillery. (automated translation)
