Description

The Glenlivet 15 Years Old French Oak Reserve is a classic Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, which is given a unique aromatic depth through its special maturation in hand-selected French Limousin oak casks. The Glenlivet distillery, founded in 1824, is one of Scotland's most important names and is known for its elegant, balanced house style. For this bottling, some of the whisky is matured in traditional American oak casks before selected batches are transferred to French Limousin oak. This type of cask, which is otherwise often used for ageing high-quality wines and cognacs, gives the whisky an additional dimension of spice, structure and luxurious wood aromas.

This combination creates a single malt full of character with a warm, harmonious texture and a clearly structured finish. The character of this whisky moves between fruity lightness, creamy vanilla sweetness and fine wood nuances that are typical of French oak. The French Oak Reserve thus represents not only a successful bridge between tradition and innovation, but also an impressive example of Glenlivet's cask expertise. On its own at room temperature, it reveals its full complexity, while a few drops of water open up the spicy component of French oak.
