Montes, founded in 1987 by Aurelio Montes and Douglas Murray, is one of Chile's most renowned wineries. The winery - also known as Viña Montes in its country of origin - has established Chilean wine internationally with its pioneering spirit and uncompromising quality standards.
Montes cultivates vineyards in some of the best locations in Chile, including Apalta in the Colchagua Valley as well as Aconcagua, Itata and Maule. Apalta in particular, with its cool microclimate and steep slopes, is ideal for elegant, structured red wines.
The modern bodega in Apalta was built according to feng shui principles and relies on natural gravity instead of pumps. The wines are matured in French oak, often accompanied by Gregorian music - a symbol of harmony and craftsmanship at the highest level.
