Since 1793, Plymouth Gin has been produced at the Black Friars Distillery in Plymouth, Devon - a building dating back to 1431 that was once a Dominican monastery. This historic site is the oldest active gin distillery in England and gives the gin its unique character.
The distillery is located in the heart of Plymouth on the south coast of England. The soft water from the nearby Dartmoor National Park and the maritime location characterize the taste of this unique gin.
Plymouth Gin is distilled in small batches in a Victorian copper pot still dating back to 1855. The recipe includes seven carefully selected botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, orange peel, lemon peel, angelica root, green cardamom and orris root. The result is a smooth, balanced gin with earthy and citrusy notes.
The bottle of Plymouth Gin bears the image of the Mayflower, the ship that sailed from Plymouth to the New World in 1620. The design reflects the gin's maritime history and long tradition.
