In the competition for the most famous wine, Poliziano Rosso di Montepulciano has also taken a top position. Compared to other wines from the region, it is not as rich in tannins, making it a mild delight that is also not too expensive. Poliziano wines are also a reminiscence of historical traditions, which have always been determined by winegrowers' striving for the best possible and uncompromising quality. It is in this context that the name Poliziano comes from the nickname of the revered poet and humanist Angelo Ambrogini. On the other hand, the work on uncompromising quality never ends in order to appeal to the modern world of wine connoisseurs. The soft heart of Poliziano Rosso di Montepulciano 2020 is made up of aromatic Sangiovese grapes, which are called "Prugnolo Gentile" in the good old tradition of Frederico Carletti's winery and always produce excellently structured wines. Twenty percent of the grapes are Merlot. The vines thrive at an altitude of around 400 meters on soft soils with an optimal lime content. After careful manual harvesting, particularly gentle pressing and controlled fermentation, the Poliziano wines are aged for eight months in oak barrels. The wine shimmers ruby red in the glass and immediately awakens anticipation of the wonderfully fruity aromas.
