Description

The Aberlour 18 Years Old Double Sherry Cask Finish Batch No. 005 43% is an expressive Speyside single malt that is characterized by its double maturation in PX and Oloroso sherry casks. The combination of at least 18 years of cask ageing and a targeted finish in two different types of sherry cask gives this bottling a special depth that is typical of Aberlour. The combination of rich Oloroso aromas and the sweet, fruity intensity of the Pedro Ximénez casks creates a full-bodied taste that harmoniously combines dark fruits, toffee and rich wood. The batch bottling shows the characteristic style of the distillery in a particularly concentrated form and reflects the high quality of its sherry cask maturation.

The whisky is rich and intense, but at the same time has a balanced structure. The natural sweetness of the PX casks meets the nutty, dry elements of the Oloroso sherry, creating a multi-layered depth that is particularly impressive in this age category. The 43% bottling retains a soft, round texture, while the elegant gift box further emphasizes the high-quality character of the single malt. The Aberlour 18 Years Double Sherry Cask impressively demonstrates how multi-layered sherry cask maturation can be and offers a long-lasting aromatic complexity that makes it an exceptional choice within the Aberlour portfolio.
