In 1975, Gérard Bertrand began his grape harvest at Château de Villemajou in the Corbières, where he discovered his passion for wine. Over the course of twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father Georges Bertrand until the fourth generation finally carried on the legacy. After the tragic death of his father in 1987, Gérard Bertrand took over the family management of the Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gérard Bertrand wine company. The Gérard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wine estates and 16 châteaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares. Some of the grapes are harvested by hand and matured in 225-liter Bordeaux barrels, while the rest is stored in stainless steel tanks.
The Côte des Roses, a tribute to the Mediterranean lifestyle, comes from the renowned Gérard Bertrand vineyard in the Languedoc region, along the Mediterranean coast to the Spanish border. The area benefits from a semi-arid Mediterranean climate, which creates ideal conditions for viticulture. The bottle design, created by a young designer from the French college École Boulle, features a bottle base in the shape of a rose blossom.
The grapes of the Gérard Bertrand Sauvignon Blanc are harvested with precision so as not to lose any of the wonderful aromas that characterize it. Its unmistakable bouquet of citrus fruit, minerality and French oak gives it its unique character. It is matured both in stainless steel tanks and in large wooden barrels.
