Bereits um das Jahr 940 finden sich erste Spuren der Langue d’Oc in literarischen Texten wie dem Gedicht La passion de Clermont. Später entwickelte sie sich zur okzitanischen Sprache mit großer kultureller Bedeutung, die im Mittelalter durch die Bewegung der Troubadoure in ganz Europa verbreitet wurde. Dieser kulturelle Reichtum spiegelt sich auch in der Weintradition des Languedoc wider, die heute von Gérard Bertrand mit modernen und nachhaltigen Methoden fortgeführt wird.
Die Trauben für diesen Chardonnay werden in der Nacht gelesen, um die Frische zu bewahren. Nach einer sanften Pressung in der pneumatischen Presse folgt eine kalte statische Vorklärung. Die alkoholische Gärung erfolgt temperaturkontrolliert im Edelstahltank, ein Teil des Mostes wird in Barriques ausgebaut, um zusätzliche Komplexität zu gewinnen. Auf eine malolaktische Gärung wird bewusst verzichtet, damit die Lebendigkeit und Frische erhalten bleiben. Nach einer leichten Schönung wird der Wein in Flaschen gefüllt. Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 13,5 % Vol. vereint der An 940 Chardonnay Frische, Eleganz und Finesse und ist ein beeindruckender Ausdruck des modernen Languedoc. Tasting notes:

Am Gaumen zeigt er sich mit cremiger, samtiger Textur, eleganten Noten von gerösteten Mandeln und Crème brûlée, die von einer subtilen Säure perfekt ausbalanciert werden. Der lange, anhaltende Abgang unterstreicht seine Eleganz und macht ihn zu einem idealen Wein für Liebhaber komplexer, ausgewogener Chardonnays.
Dieser Chardonnay aus dem Languedoc harmoniert hervorragend mit edlen Fischgerichten, Hummer, Jakobsmuscheln oder cremigen Geflügelgerichten.
